FULL-TIME FURNITURE DESIGN CONSULTANT / ADMINISTRATOR      

Founded in 1993 by Thomas Wright and Joseph Fratesi, Atlas Industries is a multi-disciplinary design and manufacturing firm integrating interiors, furniture and objects in a craft-based sensibility.   Our work is informed by the conviction that designing and building are mutually implied processes, always in dialogue.

This approach is evident across the spectrum of our work, but nowhere more so than in our signature AS4 modular furniture system™, whose quality, versatility and understated beauty have made it a favorite of designers and architects across the globe. The AS4 system offers the type of versatility typically associated with custom designed built-ins, but with the benefits of being expandable, reconfigurable, and portable.  

We are seeking an exceptionally well-organized and detail-oriented individual with strong communication skills to join us as a Furniture Design Consultant and Administrator.  A successful candidate will be someone with a passion for good design, who will enjoy and excel at helping our customers plan their AS4 system.  

Responsibilities include:

• Developing & maintaining customer relationships

• Responding to sales inquiries & assisting customers with furniture planning, including evaluating wall types and the suitability of planned furniture for intended use

• Designing with our AS4 Builder and creating technical drawings in SketchUp and AutoCAD

• Liaising with Atlas workshop and logistics teams to arrange shipments and local deliveries & installations

• Assisting in day-to-day operations of the office

This role requires:

• An art or design background

• Highly organized & detail oriented

• The desire to complete a job to the high standards our customers demand

• Ability to think three-dimensionally and create technical drawings

• Proficiency with MAC OS

Preferred skills (willing to train the right candidate):

• Experience with/understanding of furniture/interior design a definite plus

• AutoCAD and SketchUp

• Quickbooks

Compensation:

• Starting salary of $45-55,000

• PTO

• 401k profit share retirement plan
