as4 Modular Furniture System outfits a DUMBO Dining Room

The last waterfront building in DUMBO Brooklyn was acquired in 2013 by New York City real estate development company Alloy Development. Slated to complete this summer, the 42 homes available on the DUMBO waterfront are highly desirable. Surrounded by Brooklyn Bridge Park, the building boasts river views, retail shops, and many other amenities. Alloy chose Rebecca Robertson Interiors to help interested parties visualize the potential of each rental space.

The design team chose Atlas Industries' as4 modular furniture system for the dining room of the model apartment. The configuration of low cabinets appear to float effortlessly above the floor. The cold-rolled steel metal components are seen here with a chemically blackened finish, adding an industrial touch to the warmth of the solid walnut unit. Two decks, placed closely together, display a collection of peppermills, studio pottery, and art books. A stack of 3 drawers and an upper cabinet offers additional storage without crowding the configuration. The end result is a subtle, yet striking.

In this month's Elle Decor Italia:

Parlo italiano? This gorgeous TriBeCa apartment is the brainchild of interior designer Ryan Lawson and his team. Our as4 modular furniture system in solid walnut and cold-rolled steel was chosen for the library. The end result - beauty, function, and endless versatility for this client.

The as4 library is stunning alongside a vintage white glass Paul McCobb table, two Chubby Chairs by Dirk Vander Kooij, and a custom leather and steel wall sconce by Apparatus. Bravo!

as4 Modular Shelving Closet System in the home of Lydia Wills

Atlas Industries designed the as4 modular shelving system to solve countless design challenges. The wide array of components, and the ability to customize, expand, reconfigure and transport the system has made it a top choice for designers and homeowners.

Some of those who choose the as4 modular shelving system for their closets are working within small, irregularly shaped spaces, or trying to create storage that is a work of art in itself. Lydia Wills, owner of a literary management agency, was looking to achieve both these goals.

At the time, Lydia was living near Gramercy Park in a 600-square-foot studio. In the little dressing area between the main room and bathroom, Atlas Industries installed a custom as4 modular shelving system for her. The endless configurations, and ability to grow the system, made the as4 the perfect choice for her design needs. Learn more about Lydia Wills and her beautiful home in this post by Improvised Life.

Atlas Industries as4 Modular Shelving in a Montauk Beach House

Just featured in Design Milk! This three-story, split level house is nestled atop a densely wooded bluff in Montauk, New York. The design firm, Space Exploration, employed a material palette of light, neutral colors and pale woods, which combine to create a tranquil, airy atmosphere.

On the ground floor, a new recreational solarium featuring floors finished with glossy white epoxy opens directly onto the property's sprawling grounds. Space Exploration chose the as4 modular shelving system in walnut and cold-rolled steel to compliment the neutrals and whites of the solarium. The as4 system can be infinitely reconfigured and expanded upon to store and display the growing eclectic collection of furniture and objects, collected by the owners during travels to Morocco, Europe and Central America.
